Description : Yellow Fever Vaccine is given to treat yellow fever that can cause disease like jaundice, liver failure, lung failure, kidney failure, vomiting of blood and possibly death.
Side Effect : Some common side effects of Yellow Fever Vaccine may include confusion, coughing, seizures, fast heartbeat, difficulty with breathing or swallowing, feeling of burning, crawling, or tingling of the skin, nervousness or irritability, severe headache, skin rash or itching, sneezing, stiff neck, vomiting, throbbing in the ears and unusual tiredness or weakness.
Dosage : Recommended Adult Dose for Yellow Fever Prophylaxis – 0.5 mL subcutaneously
-Booster doses may be given to patients vaccinated at least 10 years prior and at increased risk of yellow fever infection
Recommended Pediatric Dose for Yellow Fever Prophylaxis – 9 months and older: 0.5 mL subcutaneously
-Booster doses may be given to patients vaccinated at least 10 years prior and at increased risk of yellow fever infection
Under 9 months: Contraindicated
